Content is all that you share with your customers, either on your website or social media. This can be summed up as what is seen and readable on your website, a blog post, social media post, video, webinar, ebook, guides, emails and any other written or video material that you want potential customers and website visitors to read and engage with.

Creating, planning, organizing, and scheduling is part of a content strategy for every business. Creating good content can bring more traffic to your website and business over time, but it is important to know what can be defined as good content and what is a good content strategy.

All of this material requires a solid structure on how and when it will be delivered to your target audience. Planning on how, what and when you want to share new content is considered a content strategy.

A good content strategy means that you have a clear understanding and vision from the idea to the realization of what and when will be posted, and with a clear goal - increasing your brand awareness and positive impact on the company.

2. How often should I create new content?

A question that comes very often is: I have heard fresh content is good for SEO, so how often should I publish new articles?

Well, new content is indeed good for SEO, but for this to have a positive impact on your rankings, you have to pay attention to two things: quality and regularity. There is no point in publishing new content every week if you do not have the time to write interesting and qualitative articles that will truly have added value to your customers.

Remember that you have to write content that will appeal to both customers and search engines. The goal is to make your content user-friendly, and if necessary write your content with less technical keywords that your customers might use.

When creating new content focus on:

  • What is your message?

  • Is the content useful for your target audience?

  • How and when will you share this content?

  • Is your brand getting more attention and can this help brand awareness?

The mission of search engines is to give their users the best results possible by matching their queries. Therefore, you have to foresee the intention of your visitors to write content that will give them an answer to their questions. You have to ask yourself what they are looking for when they use a precise keyword.

Even if you aim to sell, remember that the user’s goal is not always to buy. This is why having a blog can be very interesting for your company.

4. Why should you have a blog?

You should optimize your pages and product descriptions to give customers who are looking to buy a product all the information they need. However, some customers are maybe just looking for advice, information or ideas and those are topics that you can easily cover in blog articles.

But if the users you are targeting are not willing to buy what you are offering, how is a blog going to help your business? Well, it’s not because they are not interested in buying something now that they won’t be in the future.

Having a blog has many advantages:

  • Its content is good for SEO and helps improve your rankings

  • It shows your expertise and builds trust in your brand

  • It can be used to advertise your products

  • It is the perfect platform for collaborations and content exchange

Last but not least, don’t forget about technical SEO. Whether it is on your website or on your blog, every time you publish a new article, make sure to write at least 300 words and use headings to structure your text. Also, remember to add a meta description and a meta title and to optimize your pictures.
