How to switch the interface language of your STRATO marketingRadar dashboard?

Find out how to change the interface language in your STRATO marketingRadar and what the effects are.

Updated over a month ago

1. How is the language of the dashboard set?

The language of each of your projects is by default the language of the country the company whose website you are working on is located in. Indeed, the language settings of your project are based on the address you enter when you set up your project. If you enter a British address, the project language will automatically be English, while if you enter a German address, the project language will be German. This means that if you are working on several websites located in different countries, you might end up having to juggle several interfaces in different languages.

We realize that this might not always be the most practical and efficient way to work. Therefore, we have decided to give you the option to change the project language to the language of your choice. However, this has a few implications for the full use of the platform. Keep reading below to find out how the language switch works and what it entails.

2. How do I switch the language of my project?

You can only switch your project language from the STRATO marketingRadar dashboard. This means that you first have to complete the whole project onboarding. Once this is done and you have access to your dashboard, click on “Settings” in the left-hand side menu and then click on “Business”. You can choose another language in the “Interface language” section.

Select the language of your choice in the drop-down menu. For most languages, you have the option to choose from a wide range of country variations.

3. Does it mean I get to optimize my website for the country whose language I selected?

The answer is NO. You have to keep in mind that the only purpose of this feature is to allow you to change the language of your dashboard interface, it won’t have any impact on your data. Data such as search volumes, level of achievability of the keywords, or search engine rankings will always be based on the business address you have entered when setting up your project.

This means that if you have entered a UK address, all the data in your project will come from Google UK even if you have switched the language of your interface from English to Spanish or French.

4. What does changing my project language mean for my tasks?

Please note that changing the language of your project will affect your tasks and your task progress. All of the tasks you have already validated will indeed be reopened. Selecting another language will therefore trigger a pop-up warning.

Click on “Yes, continue” to proceed with the interface language switch.

As mentioned previously, changing the language of your project will impact your tasks and your task progress. All your validated tasks will be reopened.

However, the changes you have made to your website or to third-party platforms will remain. Therefore, all you will have to do to validate the previously completed tasks is to click “Finish” on these.

Please note that the local marketing tasks will be impacted as well by the language switch. Local directories are different from one country to another. By switching to another language, you will get the local marketing tasks created for the country whose language you have chosen and they might not all be relevant for your business.

However, this will not affect the local marketing sync. When it comes to local SEO, we recommend you ignore those tasks if you have used the language switch and focus on the local marketing feature.

What does it mean for the sync of my business data in the local directories?

As stated above, the local marketing feature will not be impacted by the language switch. This means that Your data will be published in the directories relevant to the country in which your company is located. Do not forget who your target audience is when setting up this feature. If you have switched your interface language to Italian but you have entered a British business address, remember to write your descriptions in English as your data will be published in British directories.

What does it mean for my Google Ads campaign?

The same goes for your Google Ads campaign. Your Ads will be displayed in the country your company is located in, so you have to make sure they are written in the language spoken by your target audience.

You now have all the information you need to make the most out of the language switch feature! It’s up to you to pick the language that will enable you to make the most efficient use of the STRATO marketingRadar app.
